“The Condo Killer!” Provides Quality, Greener, Appealing, “Affordable Luxury” Living

Award-winning Star Homes is a family owned manufactured home retailer located between Huntsville and Birmingham, in the town of Cullman, Alabama. We meet them recently on our latest Inside MH Road Show. In this interview, we talked with Blake Johnson, who plays a key role in managing sales at the business that respected Stanley Dye leads.

When you interview and profile enough home-builders or manufactured home retailing companies, you pick up on interesting details. Blake explains in this video what sets them apart from others in their market, which spotlights the appeal of working with a family-owned and operated business.

Blake also explains why the home we are in during this video is nick-named the ‘Condo Killer.’ When you compare the high value and low price of this Sunshine Homes Inc. model home with a townhouse or condo, it immediately made sense how this home got that handle! You’ll listen to Blake explain that in his own words.

Another point that came up in this stop of our recent Inside MH Road Show is how this experienced MH Retailer makes it a point to personally visit each home site. Stan Dye makes recommendations on site preparations and installation as part of their service to their customers.

While site inspections may seem common place to those of us in MH, to tens of thousands of home shoppers monthly who are new to manufactured housing, that’s an appealing point that can reduce the stress of home buying.

So if you or someone you know is shopping for a manufactured home, make sure you ask about the points that Blake talks about in this informative video. Keep in mind that if you don’t already have land or a home-site selected, part of the beauty of manufactured housing is that you can select your home and the location where your home will be installed.

Featured as part of a previous video highlights montage, Stan showed us how quickly a veteran retailer, working with a good bulldozer operator, can clear and prepare a site. That video – loaded with other MH Insights from a wide variety of experts – is linked here.

We’ve mentioned before that in single section manufactured homes, VOG or Vinyl Over Gypsum, is a common design feature that saves time and money. With the model home you’ll see, this is an all finished drywall design that boasts an amazingly appealing reverse wainscot look. The bold and elegant wainscoting is complemented by details such as bull nosed corners, high ceilings and an proven energy saving package.  Even with this high end look, the home is amazingly affordable, as Blake explains.

The video home tour above is of a three bedroom, 2 bath model that is “16×84” – meaning, well over 1200 square feet. Once you are inside, you would not think you are in a manufactured home – you may indeed imagine this is upscale condo in a great location.

Savor the tour of the “Condo Killer!”  We’ve also provided you with a bonus video tour of a multi-sectional home, enjoy.  More videos and featured stories to come, so check back soon! ##
