‘The War Launched in Ukraine by Russia is ‘Good News,’ Dem Claims’ – ‘Now we have a very specific reason for rising gas prices’ – Unpacking Realities of Rising Gas, Housing, Food & Other Prices

George Orwell wrote about the dystopian fictional world of Double Speak. In the classic novel 1984, Orwell illustrated how definitions and reality were constantly being re-written by the all powerful state. For some who read that as a teen as part of a high school English class decades ago, that may have seen too absurd to believe. But now, numbers of thinkers are openly saying that Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty Four, Aldous Huxley’s dystopian novel Brave New World are being used by specific (not all) corporate elites and their political allies as a kind of road map to subvert the rights of American citizens. Others in Western nations in various parts of the world are being subjected to something similar.

Is that possible? Or is that mere fantasy? Where is the evidence for such notions? This article will explore that beginning with the following recent report provided by the WND NewsCenter. For those who recall the fictional movie, Wag the Dog, file this under you can’t make it up.

The war launched in Ukraine by Russia is ‘good news,’ Dem claims

‘Now we have a very specific reason for rising gas prices’

By Bob Unruh Published March 11, 2022 at 5:28pm

While much of the free world is lamenting the deaths, possibly thousands, of Ukrainians in the war launched by Russia’s Vladimir Putin against his neighbor’s civilian population as well as the deaths of possibly thousands of Russian soldiers, that’s all “good news” for Democrats.

That’s according to a Democrat pollster, Celinda Lake of Lake Research Partners, who told the Washington Post, “The good news is we now have a very specific reason for rising gas prices and a specific villain.”

Just the News explained the circumstances, “U.S. gas prices hit a record high on Tuesday, and they have continued to climb ever since. As of Thursday, a gallon of regular gas costs $4.318 while diesel is at $5.058 per gallon, according to AAA. Gas prices have risen sharply since Russia invaded Ukraine last month.”

But while inflation was announced as 7.9% this week, it already had reached 7.5% under Biden’s policies – before the Russian war. And gasoline prices had exploded after Biden took office and attacked the American energy industry, with prices up by a dollar a gallon before Russia’s aggression was launched.

The Post reported that Biden’s “risky strategy” to ban Russian oil imports into the U.S. because of Putin’s violence was expected to drive up “already-rising fuel prices.”

Biden repeatedly has tried to pin the blame for inflation on Putin, stating, “Putin’s war is already hurting American families at the gas pump” and “Since Putin began his military buildup on Ukrainian borders — just since then — the price of the gas at the pump in America went up 75 cents.”

But the reality is energy prices were climbing quickly because Biden canceled the Keystone pipeline, tried to shut down federal oil leasing procedures and made it harder to run a natural gas facility.

Leftists have explained they want fossil fuel prices to surge dramatically, so they can be used as a weapon to manipulate Americans to supporting “green” energy, from wind and solar, which is unreliable.

Lake explained that for a long time consumers have noticed rising gas prices and wondered why. Now, she said, Putin is “a villain that we agree on.”

The report said, “Prices on a variety of goods have climbed more steeply in recent months than they have in decades, largely because of the economy’s rapid recovery from its pandemic-induced struggles, a blaring danger sign for a party seeking to hold on to narrow congressional majorities.”

The Biden administration has described the inflation as “transitory” but even his own Treasury Secretary now is warning the surging costs for consumers will be around for another year.

Republicans were continuing to remind voters – as the 2022 midterms approach in months – that the rising costs are not only the fault of Putin. They fault Biden’s block of the Keystone pipeline and more.

“This has been an all-points assault on the development of U.S. oil and gas resources, so this is not isolated — this is part of a pattern,” Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., explained. “And keep in mind, gas prices are high now, before they banned Russian gas. So I wouldn’t suddenly start blaming high gas prices upon this measure.” ##

Wag the Dog was fiction. But the notion of manufacturing an artificial reality via what we would call today ‘fake news’ is a reality believed by tens of millions across the political divide.

Before Wag the Dog there was the fictional movie Network. A classic scene below also has troubling hints of reality.

ThereIsClassClassWarfareButIsMyClassTheRichClassThatsMakingWarWeArewinningActuallyThereBeenClassWarPast20YearsMyClassWonNewYorkTimesWashingtonPostMHProNewsWarrenBuffettQuotes“A Tapestry of Lies” was a phrase used by Nobel prize winner author and playwright Harold Pinter in his acceptance speech in 2006. His enduring insights arguably still apply to political issues. Some pull quotes from Pinter will illustrate that point.

• As a citizen I must ask: What is true? What is false?

• But as I have said, the search for the truth can never stop.

• Political theatre presents an entirely different set of problems.

• Objectivity is essential. The characters must be allowed to breathe their own air. The author cannot confine and constrict them to satisfy his own taste or disposition or prejudice.

• Political language, as used by politicians, does not venture into any of this territory since the majority of politicians, on the evidence available to us, are interested not in truth but in power and in the maintenance of that power. To maintain that power it is essential that people remain in ignorance, that they live in ignorance of the truth, even the truth of their own lives. What surrounds us therefore is a vast tapestry of lies, upon which we feed.

A brief pause here should point to how Warren Buffett, Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway (BRK) – which owns Clayton Homes, 21st Mortgage Corporation, and Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance (VMF) has ironically said something similar to Pinter’s claims. These BRK brands are among the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) members that are accused by consumer advocates and some public officials of “predatory” behavior.

That noted, let’s return to more quotes from Pinter’s thesis.

• It’s a scintillating stratagem [used by America’s ruling elites]. Language is actually employed to keep thought at bay. The words ‘the American people’ provide a truly voluptuous cushion of reassurance. You don’t need to think. Just lie back on the cushion. The cushion may be suffocating your intelligence and your critical faculties but it’s very comfortable.

• …millions, of people in the United States itself are demonstrably sickened, shamed and angered by their government’s actions, but as things stand they are not a coherent political force – yet. But the anxiety, uncertainty and fear which we can see growing daily in the United States is unlikely to diminish.

• But sometimes a writer has to smash the mirror – for it is on the other side of that mirror that the truth stares at us.

• I believe that despite the enormous odds which exist, unflinching, unswerving, fierce intellectual determination, as citizens, to define the real truth of our lives and our societies is a crucial obligation which devolves upon us all. It is in fact mandatory.

• If such a determination is not embodied in our political vision we have no hope of restoring what is so nearly lost to us – the dignity of man.

Those points noted, let’s return to the TampaFP op-ed on facts behind the curtain in the war in Ukraine.

That op-ed says, “Governments in the U.S. and abroad often show signs of corrupt behavior. That corruption is what R.F. Kennedy Jr has called a “Kleptocracy.”” The video, illustration, and evidence-based report explains that the problems in the U.S. and Ukraine were avoidable.

1. At best, Biden mishandled Putin. Given he knew Putin was serious about invading Ukraine, the time to stop Russia was before the invasion, not afterward. Putin’s no boy scout in the tragedy of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but neither is Biden.

2. At worst, this is a kind of domestic and international kabuki theater. The Ukrainian people, numbers of Russians who oppose the attack, neighboring nations that are taking in refugees from Ukraine are among the victims.

3. Also among the victims are Europeans and Americans who are paying more for oil, gas, and other energy costs. All other products will rise as shipping costs rise. Biden should have known that oil and gas would shoot up. Why? Because that is routinely what happens during a war when the area of conflict happens to be in an energy-sensitive zone.

4. The rationale for Biden’s cancelling the Keystone pipeline and oil leases should be examined through the lens that every honest investigator uses: cui bono? Who benefits? There are winners and losers from the Biden regime’s energy plans.

5. There are numerous voices on both sides of the green energy and climate change debates. That too merits a closer look that could be done in a follow-up. But it is safe to say for now that it is not just ‘science deniers’ who dispute the green energy claims.

The TampaFP op-ed draws to a close saying that “the 2022 midterms are coming up. We’ll plan to talk about that in the future too. Because: “Politics is a dirty business, but if you do not do politics, politics will be done to you.” Stay tuned to the Tampa Free Press for more in this periodic series.
